LAST CLINIC DAY!!!!

I don't think there is any way I could be happier right at this moment! Last day for the first year. As Michelle put it "clinically speaking we are officially seniors!" I am a little afraid of forgetting everything this summer so I will have to make sure I review everything good. Just when I was starting to feel like I can do things okay it is time for a break. The saddest part is that I may not be in the same pod as this year. I am going to miss Jodie, Michelle, and Karen so so much. They are awesome and I learn so much from them. I worked on my dad today and it all went great, very relaxing day and a great way to end the year on a good note. See ya in the Fall!!!

Finally a 1A!

Today my cute little cousins came in because I was officially desperate for a 1A. They were bouncing all over the place wondering what everything was. My favorite moment of the day was when I asked the 10 year old girl if she wanted to be a dentist when she grew up and she very enthusiastically responded "No way tongues look like a huge weird red worm!" They were so funny and it was a good learning experience for me. I missed a million spots. I learned that you should not rely on the dye at all. It is strictly a learning tool. Also sheet calc is a beast. That is all.

2 clinic days left! The countdown cont...

Today was fun. I was in the opposite clinic and it was so fun to see people in the opposite clinic! I finished a 1B in one apt. without even rushing. It felt good to feel slightly competent at my job. I had a super nice patient who took good care of her teeth but hadn't had a cleaning in a few years so I could see a big difference from start to finish. It was nice, and I liked it. Teeth are so cool. I'm gonna like this job.

P.S. Got a new explorer from two clinics ago when the tip of mine broke in my patients mouth. I was so confused for a minute looking at how much shorter my explorer was suddenly. Then I saw the tip at the back of my patients mouth. Not good haha. I got one with a longer terminal shank and am excited to try it. Should be fun.

The day is almost done, yeah

Wasn't my best day. Bad at x-rays, bad at sealants, lets skip that part. I learned from it and am moving on. Lets focus on the good, we have the best, I mean the BEST, girls in this program. I am so grateful for how supportive and awesome all of my friends are. Maren, and Michelle I don't know if I could love you anymore than I do.
The afternoon went better. My instructor was awesome and helped to calm me down and have a very productive afternoon. I felt a lot more confident about feeling for calculus. I set time goals and finished as fast as I wanted too. I did two quads on two different patients and it all went smoothly.
Goal: Make it through the next three clinic days...
Okay on to meet the first years.
